Rudy, what album is that from? I'm really interested in picking up more of this guy's work. Sharing a Chaka album with Steve Ferrone, man.... Steve's another great player. And Da Chuch, that's an awesome story! Real interesting about the takes for the Stevie songs. Worked beautifully on those albums of Stevie's though.

'what cha gonna do for me'. That's the only song with him. There's one other wth casey scheurell, and the rest is ferrone.

yeah, i love that dvd - 'standing in the shadows of mowtown'. i bought it about a year ago and it's amazing how they churned out more hits than like the beatles, elvis, and i believe the beach boys combined! i haven't seen it in a while but ya gets the picture. great stories of these great musicians who never really got the credit nor the monetary recognition they really deserved.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Indeed, it is quite sad actually. Such talent came from those guys. Some incredible drummers too. Benny Benjamin, Uriel Jones, Pistol Allen, those guys could flat-out PLAY. Plus having cats like Bob Babbit, James Jamerson (you really don't hear enough about this guy, everything he played was absolutely perfect), Joe Messina, all of the Motown cats. Every single one.

I know Dennis Davies and always try to hook up with him when he is in London with Roy Ayers. I was playing at a club in London a couple of years ago and I invited Dennis to come over after his set with Roy....and he did!! Guy is freakin' awesome.....and he played too.

I heard that Dennis could have some probleme with his throat...

Anyway, he did some great stuff too with Bowie isn't ?
I think that Dennis come from Brooklyn, like Sterling Campbell and Zack Alford, and all of them did played with Bowie !!!
